quote of the day

"Truth is wild, mysterious, alive, and always on the prowl to capture, confront, and find us!" Mike Yaconelli

What makes truth alive?

How do we sometimes strip truth of its mystery?

What truths impact you?

What makes truth alive? I don't know - but in 1 Peter we read of a living hope. I believe that is one that changes how we live - it's not just a fact unattached from life. Maybe living truth is that which changes our lives.

We forget that we don't know it all. My Pastor just mentioned yesterday that every time he preaches, he realizes he has just barely scratched the surface (and he is not emergent or anything - just an honest Pastor who believes in "absolute truth"). I think part of losing the mystery is thinking we have it figured out - reducing God to rules and taking out the passionate relationship. There's a lot more than that - but my jumbled mind isn't there today.

Every action everyone has ever done has only been because they wanted to.

Jesus Christ died to save sinners, of which I am the chief.

We are saved by grace and live by grace.

Being a father and dad is absolutely amazing - so far, nothing compares.

Many more. If there were no God there woudl be no atheists - G. K. Chesterton.
