Matt...I go to VEFC...I really appreciate your response on Tony Jone's blog!

I was at the DG conference this last weekend...

I would be interested to talk with you more regarding the EMC situation...and the Jones talk at VEFC. Thanks brother!

Matt, I stumbled across your blog - tripping through the links and all.

Anyway, I see you're in Boone and so I thought I would say "Hey." If you're ever in Des Moines and you have some time to kill, look me up. I pastor Redeemer PCA.

Emergent cannot avoid the category of orthodoxy vs. heterodoxy -- even though their leaders' foundational position of skepticism toward the knowability of any truth puts them squarely into heterodoxy. What's the point of affirming the brute existence of absolute truth, if you then deny that any human mind can know it? It's self-contradictive -- even the statement "There is absolute truth, but we can't know it for sure" is itself a propositional statement (not a narrative, note), and subject to the same agnosticism the emergents apply to the Bible.
