Warning: Pull Back the Curtain if You Dare

In the iconic film, The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy and her friends believe that the great Wizard of Oz is their sure and certain hope of getting back to home, finding a brain, developing courage, etc. The Wizard is powerful, strong, and worthy to be feared.

There is one problem. Behind the curtain they find the truth that the "great Wizard of Oz" is a trickster. It's one big show, smoke and mirrors, a fluke, a Ponzi scheme. The only hope Dorothy and friends have is themselves, and so they better get to work.

Interestingly, Christians argue the real world works in the reverse. In the real world, many fear that there's no one behind the curtain. History rattles along via blind chance and survival of the fittest. But, not for the Christian...

Christians say pick up the Book of Revelation or meditate on the prophecy of Ezekiel. There you will have the curtain pulled back. There you will see a God fully in control, fully capable, fully good, and fully intending to judge sin, offer grace to the penitent, and consummate history in prolific glory. All this is possible because Jesus' death on the cross wasn't a waste, but a cosmic victory. Jesus died for our sins and was vindicated 3 days later by His resurrection. The cross was D-Day, and thus, in time we'll see V-Day.

Pull back the curtain if you dare...a sovereign King will be found. “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
